I strongly recommend everyone take progress pics! It is motivating to take a picture every month and see your progress… and more important than a number on the scale. Especially when adding strength, monitoring your progress in other ways than the scale is highly important. When I first started weight lifting, I lost no weight that month, but lost several inches, and already noticed a difference in my pictures.
Whether you have 10 pounds or 100 pounds to lose, or if you are trying to change your shape or even gain some weight, progress pictures are a great way to provide reinforcement for all the hard work you are putting in. Just in January after my 10 pound weight gain, I took new “before” pics, and it is really amazing to see the difference between now and 4 months ago with losing those pounds again.
Anything you can do to keep motivated is important!
