Thursday Fun Post :)

I thought I’d keep it light today and talk about those things we do when no is looking…or we think no one is looking! Don’t deny it you do these things too!

1) Check ourselves out in the gym’s bathroom mirror, especially the rear view. Want to make sure we’re covered up…or not  ;) If we’re really feeling brave we’ll even sneak a peek in the gym’s main floor to ceiling mirrors!

2) Check our teeth in the cars’ rearview mirror before we get out…want to make sure there’s no lettuce between our teeth :D

All clear :D

3) Hold your breath when you weigh yourself and stand really tall…like it’ll make a difference. hahaha

4) Try to direct the conversation when your partner is on the phone until he/she finally holds out the phone and says “do you want to talk” then we instantly shut up! :/

5) Start singing out loud while listening to our iPod etc. This is especially embarassing at the gym!

6) Chew the crap out of the Tim Horton’s Roll Up The Rim To Win cup, then it’s so mangled we don’t want to redeem it if we win…but we do anyway. Hey it’s free coffee!

WE WON! Took the chewed up part to redeem ♥

7) Talk to the dog/cat/iguana(?) as if they are a human…then imagine what their answer would be and respond to that!

seriously now...does she not look like she would hold a conversation with you?

8 ) Sort all the laundry with good intentions, see that there are now 3 small loads…ah hell, just throw it all in together!

9) Put your favorite fitness outfit in the laundry, forget to do laundry, then take said outfit out of the dirty pile and wear it again…DON’T DENY THIS ;)

10) Pull open the fridge door to see what we might want over and over as if the food content suddenly does a little shuffle and SURPRISE – the yogurt yells ” I’m over here now”

SEE It does say that! ;)

Well Thursdays are my fridays so it’s wind down time for me. Have a good night everyone.

Leave a comment with your funny things you do.

Share the Indulgence ♥

share: a. to partake of, use, experience, occupy, or enjoy with other

in·dulge: a. To yield to; gratify: indulge a craving for chocolate

I do like to indulge in a nice restaurant meal occasionally. The only problem I find is that the portion sizes are too big which leads me to either just order a salad, which I may as well make at home, or completely lose it and polish of way too much food so that my stomach is distended! Then I complain all night about how full I feel or how my stomach aches.

When I go out for a meal I don’t order the most caloric item on the menu but I also don’t restrict myself to the least caloric item either. So, a few years back my husband and I made the conscious choice to share our restaurant meals. I mean share everything…one salad to start, one main meal and one dessert. This way we get to sample a complete 3 course meal without the bloat. Not only is it better in the calorie department but it is way easier on the pocket book; we tend to be frugal! ;) We have yet to leave a restaurant hungry, actually quite the opposite, we often find ourselves saying if we had any more we’d be uncomfortable.

Now, I will admit, me being a “what will people think” kind of girl, I was shy to only order one of everything. After a few times of ordering with my eyes lowered though, I quickly realized that this was our choice to make and really no one cares. We have yet to be refused service, although we did get the “you’re only ordering one?” a few times. I have to admit this was in the States and, I hate to generalize here, but have you seen their portion sizes??? Massive!

Tonight was a restaurant night, we shared a lovely Green Salad with acorn squash and carmelized onions. Then we shared a main of Curried Chicken Fettuccine (do not want to know the calorie count…but I only ate half) :) To finish, we shared a Creme Brulee. Then, because we are kinda frugal, we drove through Tim Horton’s for our coffee!

It was a great meal with more than enough food. We felt we had a good night out and a break from cooking after work.

Creme Brulee - Yummy!

Do you share your meals?

Or do you want it all for yourself?
